Cruisin'

The boat is officially on the water for the season. Friday Dom took the day off from work and we put the boat in at the marina. The weather was in the 70's at home and a little cooler at the lake but it didn't stop us from taking a ride. There was hardly anyone on the lake and the water was like glass. They are predicting temperatures in the 80's for the next three days. That is 20 degrees above normal. I know the temps are sure to plummet again but you can bet we'll be enjoying it while it lasts!

This and That

I feel like I should be posting something but there isn't much going on around here. Well there is stuff going only it isn't very exciting, but I'll tell you about it anyway.
We had some nice weather last week and the weekend was pretty decent. We did a lot of yard work and Dom did several projects that he had been wanting to get to like changing the oil in his car, waxing the boat and putting down grass seed. The yard has been raked and my flower beds are ready for planting but it still too early to plant anything yet, we've had some warm sunny days but we have also had nights where it still gets below freezing, so planting is on hold a little longer. I did get Dom to build me two raised beds for planting some veggies. We just need a nice load of loam to fill them up.
The kids are on Spring vacation this weekend and unfortunately the weather for the next few days is looking rainy. We did make a trip to Barnes and Noble for some new books and to Michael's for a few craft supplies to keep us busy. The end of the week and weekend looks like it is going to warm up and dry out so we can get back outside. If Dom gets his way, we'll get the boat in the water too.
It is play-off hockey season and Bruins are playing Montreal in the first round. They are leading the series 2-0 and will hopefully continue to sweep the series. They finally have a team with enough talent to bring home the cup and are the only Boston team to not bring home a championship in recent years so it is their turn!

It's the most wonderful time of the year

According to Dom cutting open the boat is one of his favorite days of the year because that means that boating season is just around the corner and that is the most wonderful time of the year!

I Want an Easter Egg

Over the weekend we colored eggs. It was messy but that is half the fun!

Muddy McMudpuddle

We are well into mud season which means the snow is melting and the ground is thawing, but it also means that there is mud everywhere. There is no place that my oldest daughter would rather be than right in the middle of it.
And in case you were wondering, this giant mudpit is the driveway.

Yesterday the temps hit 60 and she was outside for hours in shorts, t-shirt and a pair of rubber boots with no socks, splashing in the puddles. She splashed around so much that she would have to periodically stop and dump the water out of her boots!

Then she got mad because I made her take a shower to get cleaned up.

Move over Martha

Just an FYI I started a new blog all about crafts for both adults and kids. You can check it out at http://www.craftaddictconfessions.blogspot.com/ Let me know what you think!
I've included a tutorial on how to make this cute little fuzzy bunny-hopefully it makes sense. Writing tutorials is a little harder than I thought it would be!
And Speaking of Martha, I entered fuzzy bunny in their Easter photo contest.

April Fools

I don't usually play pranks on April Fools day, mostly because I don't like them to be played on me. This year I did play two little pranks. One on Becca and one on Kenzie and they both thought it was funny. For Becca's prank I gave her a glass of milk, only it was solid and nothing came out when she tipped her glass. I just mixed a packet of gelatin with a couple of teaspoons of water then added some milk. I stuck it in the fridge last night to gel and gave it to her first thing this morning. For Kenzie I just did the old plastic spider in the shoe trick.
